Jesters Remain Undefeated, Play Inter Nashville FC for Conference Title

The New Orleans Jesters keep their undefeated streak alive. Coach Farrell and the boys have gathered six points on the road: coming out on top against Georgia Revolution (4-0), and from Saturday evening’s match against the Atlanta Silverbacks (2-1). Going into the weekend, Coach Farrell knew he had a tough road ahead (three games in five days) and prepared as such. The preparation paid off, and a win or tie against Inter Nashville FC would clinch first in the conference—and rights to host the playoffs. This would be the Jesters first regular season conference title in the NPSL.

“I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve come back from behind,” Jester Nathan Heath tweeted out, “We are showing unreal character to win games.” It’s been a season of come-backs and obstacles—but with an undefeated record; it’s been one of building a winning momentum.

Coach Farrell described the mindset that the Jesters have taken towards this season, “We set out with a goal this season of taking it game by game - It is vitally important that you never get ahead of yourself.  With three games in five days, we had three-part mission. Two parts have now been completed successfully. This Jesters squad, and the special season they are having, is a statement to the depth, quality and mindset of every member of this organization. For the boys, only the next game, and winning it, is currently on their mind.”

Jonathon Evans has been a topic of discussion all season—and for good reason; having scored two goals against Atlanta, Evans is now ranked first in goals scored in the South Region, and ranked ninth across the NPSL. The Jesters are now one of only three NPSL teams overall still standing with an undefeated record—others being FC Arizona and Virginia Beach FC.

This Monday, July 3rd at Pan American Stadium, the Jesters are giving free admission to any children participating in a youth club soccer club (any club, not just Jesters affiliated). All you have to do is show up wearing your club’s t-shirt or jersey! And in honor of our military—and it being the eve of Independence Day—the Nashville match on Monday will be Military appreciation night; anybody with a military I.D. gets in free of charge as well.
