NEW ORLEANS, LA – (April 25, 2012) -- The New Orleans Jesters invite all youth soccer players to join the newest and truest New Orleans soccer program. The Jesters will be holding tryouts for their Elite Youth Teams from May 7th-June 13th. Youth players that fall in the age categories of U11 to U18 are encouraged to attend the tryouts that will be held at Pan American Stadium in City Park. The Elite teams are for players that are interested in competing in the Louisiana Competitive League as well as State Cup and regional competition.
“It’s important for us to be a part of youth soccer and the developmental process,” said Kenny Farrell, Head Coach of the New Orleans Jesters. “We are dedicated to the proper development of our young players and to giving them the best chances to succeed on and off of the field. I am delighted that we can now offer a quality, local option for the area’s soccer families.”
The Jesters also offer other youth development programs through its non-profit entity, NOLA Soccer Academy. Other youth options include the Pre-Elite Program, the School of Excellence and summer camps. The Pre-Elite Program is designed for the player that wants professional training without the cost or commitment of an Elite team. The Pre-Elite Program has just finished its inaugural spring session that was very successful and is currently registering players for its summer and fall sessions. The pre-elite player represents the majority of the youth soccer players. These players want to improve their recreational play as well as prepare for high school competition and future elite team participation.
The School of Excellence Program serves as a professional coaching support system for area schools, clubs and recreational departments. Designed for youth players between the ages of 4-12, the program assists other entities in providing proper soccer instruction to players and coaches. The Jesters Soccer Camps will take place during the summer throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Week-long sessions will be offered in full-day and half-day options from June 4th-August10th at both indoor and outdoor locations.
“We are very excited about the expansion of our youth development program,” states Jesters CEO Dana Stumpf. “We are proud of our partnerships with top local groups and we look forward to expanding into a full youth club and developmental pyramid over the next few years.”
